CNC Machine Operator

Abbotsford, BC

Our company is currently looking for an experienced CNC Machine Operator with a well-rounded understanding of various metal fabrication and manufacturing processes including cutting, bending, forming, machining, and assembling. 
You’ll have a basic understanding of how to program CNC machines using G Code and CAM programming. 
You’ll work closely with the CAD/CAM Programmer and Production Scheduler to ensure that work orders are planned and completed efficiently.
Ideally, you’ll have experience operating a wide range of CNC machinery including CNC lasers and welders, CNC router and drilling machinery, automated punching and automated cut-off saw machinery.

 

 

Daily task and duties:

  • Provide input and work with the CAD/CAM Programmer to develop effective part programs
  • Operate and execute part programs on various CNC machinery within the specified tolerances
  • Load and unload production material 
  • Interpret detailed engineering part drawings that are dimensioned with the necessary manufacturing tolerances and quality control specifications.
  • Select tooling and set-up methods to produce parts in the most efficient manner
  • Perform basic daily maintenance on machinery and tooling
  • Inspect and measure finished products and compare them to specifications 
  • Optimize machine performance and minimize material waste
  • Promote and uphold the QC system
  • Ensure a safe working environment
  • Housekeeping and cleanliness of work areas
  • Other duties and projects assigned by supervisor

Qualification:

  • Must be able to work Monday to Friday 7am – 3:30pm
  • Must be available for other shifts as necessary
  • Must be able to work in Abbotsford
  • Must have reliable means of transportation
  • 5+ years production experience in metal fabrication 
  • Able to lift 25 lbs. repetitively
  • Familiarity with 6S, Theory of Constraints, and Kanban is a plus 
  • Proven skills in operating CNC machinery
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Experienced in using calipers, micrometers and other gauges to inspect finished parts
  • Proven skills in quality control programs
