POSITION: Manager, Quality and Patient Safety
Alliance-Wide
Full-Time

POSITION SUMMARY: The Manager Quality and Patient Safety will report to the Director Quality and Risk and provide corporate transformational leadership, strategic direction and support regarding the HPHA Quality Improvement and Patient Safety opportunities and processes to staff and leaders. The Manager will promote and support the mentoring and coaching of HPHA leaders and staff to develop quality improvement capacity towards achieving and sustaining continuous quality improvements through Process Optimization, Project Management and Quality Improvement methodologies and consideration of the impact of Human Factors within system design. The Manager is responsible for operational management of the HPHA Quality and Patient Safety department as well as actively leading/facilitating quality improvement initiatives within their assigned portfolio.

REPORTS TO: Director Quality and Risk

DATE REQUIRED: As Soon As Possible

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Degree in relevant/applicable field
• Recognized regulated healthcare professional an asset
• Educational background in Quality Improvement: Knowledge in Quality Improvement (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma, High Reliability, etc.) and Change Management required.
• Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible quality improvement experience

EXPERIENCE:
• Progressively responsible experience leading and managing quality improvement initiatives and projects
• Previous management experience (preferred)
• Clinical background an asset

ABILITIES:
• Ability to work within and lead an interdisciplinary team
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong time management, motivational, organizational and planning skills
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships, and coach and mentor with well-developed conflict resolution skills
• Strong presentation and teaching skills with knowledge and experience in adult education strategies; skilled in group facilitation,
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Project, CAD an asset etc.
• Demonstrated experience with data analysis, data manipulation, report generation, root cause analysis and quality improvement methodologies
• Motivated, self-starter
