This opportunity is being posted as part of the Community Commitment Program for Nurses (CCPN), which intends to attract nurses to work in the hospitals, long-term care homes and home and community care agencies in greatest need across Ontario.

 

To be eligible for the CCPN, a nurse must not have been employed as a nurse in Ontario in the six months prior to being hired; and must commit to 12-months of employment at a full-time work schedule offered by the employer. Qualifications

  • Must be able to function independently and demonstrate competence in Acute Care and/or Complex Continuing Care Nursing Practice within an RN scope of practice
  • Responsible for maintaining and providing proof of registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO)
  • Ability to respond to dynamic patient care needs
  • Current Certification in BLS
  • ALCS, TNCC, PALS, 2Lead ECG Rhythm Interpretation an asset
  • CTAS training preferred for Emergency Department assignments
  • Certification in IV Therapy with demonstrated ongoing competence
  • Current certification in WHMIS
  • Certification in CPI an asset
  • Knowledge of First Nations Culture an asset
  • Reliable attendance record
