POSITION: Intake Coordinator – 1 FTE Permanent Position

RESPONSIBLE TO: Manager – Youth Wellness Hub


Reporting to the Youth Wellness Hub Manager, the Intake Coordinator will welcome youth and families to the Youth Wellness Hub (YWH) and provide key administrative support for the program. This includes, but is not limited to, completing intake with youth in an approachable, non-judgmental way, exploring and identifying the most appropriate service(s), orienting youth to the Hub space, and supporting Hub programming as needed. In addition to the client-related work, the Intake Coordinator will carry out key administrative tasks such as daily office maintenance, data entry, submitting referrals, communications and advertising, minute taking, and assisting with special projects.


The Youth Wellness Hub offers timely access to a variety of integrated services, with an emphasis on mental health and substance use. The Youth Wellness Hub is supported by a network of organizational partners, as well as a Youth Advisory Council. The YWH aims to increase access by reducing barriers and co-creating its programs and services with youth.

Summary of Duties:
➢ Welcome and orient youth to the YWH in an approachable, non-judgmental way;
➢ Provide information, education and guidance to youth and families, supporting them to identify the most appropriate service(s);
➢ Facilitate intake on both DACIMA and Mustimuhw cEMR;
➢ Provide crisis intervention, when necessary;
➢ Ensure youth voice is embedded in the development and operations of the YWH;
➢ Work as part of the Youth Wellness Team to reduce barriers and increase access to services;
➢ Support the Youth Wellness Team with administrative tasks including intake, referrals, data collection and documentation management;
➢ Oversee data collection and reporting, in consultation with the Manager;
➢ Daily office maintenance and organization including, but not limited to, sanitization, ordering supplies, managing vehicles, ensuring a clean and safe work environment;
➢ Support communications and advertising of Hub services/programs;
➢ Involvement in special projects;
➢ Additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
➢ Minimum 1-year experience doing administrative work;
➢ Excellent rapport and ability to work with youth;
➢ University degree or college diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution preferred;
➢ Ability to deal with crisis and post-crisis situations;
➢ Excellent skills in the following areas: team work, computer, organization, networking, interpersonal and communication (written & oral);
➢ Ability to demonstrate and work through a lens of sensitivity to diversity related to race, religion, culture, cognitive functioning, poverty, sexual orientation and gender identity.
➢ Commitment to participating and learning about Anishinaabe culture and experience working with First Nations populations is considered an asset.
➢ Valid driver’s license and vehicle
