Description

The Manager of Quality, Risk and Clinical Information will have overall responsibility for quality and compliance as it pertains to client and organizational risk and safety. The incumbent’s solid expertise in this field will facilitate the successful leading and building of organizational capacity for improvement through:

 

  • co-designing solutions using leading practices and innovation to resolve quality, patient safety and standards issues
  • serving as a coach and mentor to advance quality and patient safety
  • sharing knowledge on leading practices that reduce patient and organizational risk
  • collaborating with leaders, staff and clinicians to monitor quality and ensure required organizational practices and standards compliance are embedded in practice and service delivery
  • advancing quality, patient safety and risk management through participation and support at leadership, clinical and governance tables
  • respectfully engaging patients, families and care delivery teams in the investigation of complaints to resolve concerns and identify opportunities for improvement
  • administering the risk reporting and investigation system
  • serving as a Privacy Officer and providing management oversight to Health Records Department

 

The successful applicant will lead the hospital's journey to utilize analytics to maximize quality outcomes, efficiency, and continuing quality improvements. This will be achieved through collaboration with key internal and external stakeholders to review performance, identify and mitigate risk and identify opportunities to improve the patient and family experience.

 

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in a related regulated health profession; Master’s Degree preferred
  • Member in good standing of an associated regulatory body an asset
  • Experience implementing quality and patient safety standards and processes for a health care facility using tools and frameworks, qualitative and quantitative data collection tools, data mining, analysis and reporting
  • Experience with accreditation, patient safety and national data sets such as CIHI
  • Knowledge of Accreditation Canada standards for hospitals
  • Knowledge of the concepts of healthcare risk management, including the legislation governing risk management, and programs to reduce organizational risk
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Knowledge of all applicable legislation and responsibilities as it pertains to the portfolio and reporting requirements
  • Evidence of a collaborative leadership style with effective team building skills across interdisciplinary teams
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office software
