Job Type: Full-time Permanent
Salary: $40,000 - $45,000 per annum
The salary range reflects the expected compensation for this position. The final offer will be determined based on a holistic assessment of the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities:
- Handle complex exports and import documentations, including key advisory data such as: Harmonized System (HS) tariff codes classification and validations, Landed cost calculations, Country of origin determinations for customs purposes.
- Support Manager for the freight rate analysis and freight negotiation.
- Recommend optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment, or frequency.
- Review and process the freight invoices.
- Implement specific customer requirements, such as internal reporting or customized transportation metrics.
- Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports, or customer issues.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate shipping with business systems or processes, such as sales, purchasing, warehouse, planning and accounting.
- Maintain and communicate shipments in-transit with daily report to the corporate buying team and management team.
- Ensure all import/export legislation requirements are met consistently.
- Identify inbound and outbound products discrepancies on documents and resolve with responsible parties.
Qualifications:
- College diploma or equivalent related in International Trade Business or Freight Forwarding, Supply Chain Management
- Minimum 3 years of experience coordinating with shippers, forwarders, and customs brokers, ocean carriers, warehouses
- Knowledge of PO management and orders placing with overseas suppliers and customers
- Able to multi-task with initiative
- Strong aptitude in time management
- Excellent problem solving and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Enjoy new challenges and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to set priorities and organize workload assigned in an efficient manner
- Ability to work and make decisions independently
- Self-motivated, hardworking, and a team player
- Experience in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals or food industries
- Good knowledge in SAP system
- Knowledge of Canadian, U.S. and International Customs Requirements
- Computer literate in MS word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint & E-mail
- CIFFA, CCS certification would be an asset
