Pipe Layer Helper

We are currently seeking a Labourer/Pipe Layer Helper. This means the successful candidate has the physical ability to lift piping, shovel materials and rake backfill. The pride this person takes in their work will be reflected as part of the continuing success of the company. Responsibilities Include:

• Setting up of traffic barricades and relevant fencing
• Shoveling and raking
• Help keep site clean and free of debris and materials
• Provide support to the Pipe Layer
• Perform hand signals and/or flag control as necessary
• Help maintain a safe work site and adhere to safe work policies and safe job procedures
• Ensure pipes are cut to proper specifications
• Ensure proper bedding in place prior to backfilling
• Other duties as assigned, including attending and participating in tool box meetings

Requirements:

• 1+ years of experience as a Labourer/Pipe Layer Helper
• Able to perform manual labour and lift heavy objects.
• Able to work as part of a team
• Work well under pressure and time constraints
• Ability to work long hours with some weekends and overtime in all types of outdoor environments and weather conditions
• Must have CSA approved safety boots
• Experience in underground water and sewer installation preferred
• Experience in the construction industry
• Must have a valid Alberta Class 5 Drivers License and have own transportation to get to/from job sites within the City of Calgary
