Production Lead Hand

We are a privately owned, design and manufacturing company, and a leading manufacturer of snow removal equipment for the compact tractor industry in North America. In addition to the design and manufacturing of snow removal equipment (for John Deere, TORO and Kubtoa), we design and manufacture arena groomers, skid steer and tractor attachments for the equine, construction and farming industries. Our equipment is of the highest quality and shipped all over North America, from Texas to Alaska and New Brunswick to Hawaii. Our customers range from private acreage owners to government, large construction companies and equipment dealers.

 

The Role:

Our company is seeking an experienced Production Lead Hand to oversee daily operations in our assembly shop, which includes blasting, powder coating, assembly and inspection of final product. The ideal candidate must be able to lead a team in creating and installing everything from hydraulic systems, including pumps and motors on all snow blowers and brooms, to assembling teeth on groomers.   

 

Job Description

  • Read, understand and follow engineered drawings
  • Assemble machinery with motors, pumps and hydraulics and lead a team in assembly.
  • Use hand and pneumatic tools and take precise measurements
  • Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to specifications
  • Meet production targets and deadlines
  • Perform routine maintenance on assembly tools and equipment
  • Collaborate with team members to improve assembly processes
  • Ensure a clean and organized work environment
  • Adhere to safety protocols and company policies
  • Report any issues or defects to Management

 

Qualifications

  • 3 – 5 years of experience in a leadership role – farming / automotive industry preferred
  • Strong problem-solving abilities
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Able to take a meeting plan and implement it with the Production / Assembly Team.
  • Clean class 5 drivers license and ability to submit a drivers abstract.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, manual dexterity and physical stamina
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Experience with driving trucks with 30Ft flat deck trailers an asset
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • College diploma / vocational training in farming / automotives preferred
  • References required for successful candidates

 

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30pm

Some weekends may be required.

Our shop is is a very fluid work environment, and the successful candidate must be able to transition with the ebb and flow of daily activities. What you think you will do at 8AM could be very different from what you end up doing at 8AM

 

Work location is in Strathmore, Alberta. Candidates must be able to commute to Strathmore.
