Quality Assurance Technician

We have over 60 years of experience specializing in the design, manufacture, and custom fabrication of engineered polyethylene systems for water, wastewater, and storm water management applications.  We offer our clients full-service engineering support in the design and manufacture of custom systems to meet their project’s specific requirements.

We are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to work out of our Huntsville, Ontario location. The responsibilities of this role include conducting testing and inspection on raw materials and pipes, and dock audits of finished pipe and fittings, to ensure quality compliance with company, customer and industry standards.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Actively participate in all Health & Safety training and promote a safe work environment
  • Actively participate and or champion quality and production process improvements
  • Reviews and complies with necessary QTs, SQPs, and other L4 Documents necessary to check raw materials and products’ compliance to standards
  • Verify proper handling and labeling of finished product through the production and verify packaging/bundling during dock audits
  • Monitor the manufacturing processes by auditing, line checks, inspecting, collecting samples, confirming lengths, and checking product and workmanship to ensure adherence to required standards
  • Interact with all departments for timely resolution of in-process production concerns, provide support to the Quality and Production Supervisor in investigating and resolving internal and external non-conformance issues
  • Provide support to operations by training and coaching on standards and best practices, utilizing historical data, current systems, and other available tools
  • Oversee product inspection including disposition of on-hold products by collecting, classifying, analyzing, and interpreting production and quality data
  • Review and provide customer documentation packages as per their individual inspection and test plan requirements, and as required by the Sales Order.
  • Assist to Manage the calibrations and other measurement system requirements for gauges, test and measuring equipment
  • Participate in customer and regulatory body visits and audits, address findings
  • Manage the collection, inspection, documentation, and shipping of customer samples
  • Conduct process audits and ISO 9001 internal audits with QA Supervisor and ensure that all findings are addressed and closed
  • Review and comply with necessary QT’s, SQP’s, and other L4 documents; Participate in on-going and 3-year review and revisions of all QA L4 documents
  • Participate in all LEAN, preventive activities, 5-S activities, and other new initiatives (e.g., BIQC, etc.) as they pertain to the QA department and the Huntsville plant location

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous related experience in Quality Assurance in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with QA methodologies (5 why, fish bone, 8D) and tools
  • Previous Quality experience in QMS and/or ISO9001
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, with good problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Excellent computer skills and sound knowledge of MS Office.
  • Experience utilizing a fully integrated ERP system
  • Experience with 5-S and LEAN Manufacturing, would be an asset
  • Strong  organizational and time management skills

 

WE OFFER:

  • $20.55 per hour to start
  • $2,000.00 Signing and retention bonus; $1,000.00 payable after 6 months’ continuous employment and another $1,000.00 payable after 1 full year of continuous employment.
