The Combustion Technician provides combustion Services and technical support to the Combustion Solutions Team.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs all combustion Services duties and attends to all the needs in the field.
• Communicates with various branches regarding the submission of field reports and combustion Services.
• Prepares formal combustion reports for clients and internal use.
• Reports branch combustion Services performance to the Combustion Supervisor.
• Consults with members of the combustion team on field codes and environmental emissions.
• Recommends combustion equipment and Services improvements and upgrades.
• Performs a variety of business administration duties.
• Complies with standards and procedures of our Health & Safety Manual and Occupational Health & Safety Regulations.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

• Preference given to those with related post secondary education.
• Exposure to natural draft combustion products an asset.
• Experience and environmental emissions an asset.
• Strong understanding of the practical and theoretical concepts of combustion.
• Strong knowledge of applicable codes and regulations.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations (ability to understand EPA standards).
• Must be familiar with field combustion equipment and its uses. 
• Must be familiar with combustion Services in the gas industry.
• Preference given to those with Environmental experience.
• Excellent communication and computer skills are a must.
• Proven ability to work well with a team is essential.

Special Conditions of Employment

• Exposure to outside elements.
• Must have CSA approved safety boots.
• Minimal travel within Western Canada will be required.
• Must have a valid class 5 driver’s license.
• Must have own transportation as location is not accessible with public transportation.
