Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Materials Coordinator is responsible for the overall coordination of materials for the assigned Electric & Controls division/branch(es).


Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinates and completes freight and courier company bills of ladings with other relevant documentation as required.
  • Coordinates materials for Branch related jobs and projects.
  • Performs minor preventative maintenance of shop tools/equipment.
  • Tracks the allocation of shop tools/equipment to employees, fleet vehicles and projects.
  • Implements and maintains inventory and tool management system.
  • Controls shop and yard maintenance.
  • Picks- up and/or hot shots materials and products within surrounding areas.
  • Completes inspection reports on received materials.
  • Processes stock transfers.
  • Files MSDS data sheets.
  • Monitors received material and matches to purchase orders.
  • Searches inventory records to determine if sufficient material quantity is on hand.
  • Follows-up with vendors and internal sources to confirm and schedule incoming material deliver.
  • Assists with the issuance of Purchase Order numbers, data entry on purchase orders and receipt of purchase orders in the system.
  • Assists with RMA (Returned Material Authorizations) creation and matching existing Purchase Orders in the system for returns.
  • Complies with standards and procedures of the Health & Safety Manual and Occupational Health & Safety Regulations.
Skills, Abilities and Educational Background
  • Minimum 3-5 years relevant work experience.
  • Working knowledge of MS office applications.
  • Previous experience with ERP software an asset.
  • Forklift certification.
  • WHMIS and TDG certifications.
  • Willingness to work overtime.
  • Capability of lifting 50 to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to start and complete multiple tasks under pressure and with deadlines.
  • Detail oriented and committed to accuracy.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Must have own transportation, clean driving record and be able to provide a current drivers abstract.
  • Forklift, pallet jack and other warehousing equipment experience preferred.
Must have own transportation as location is not accessible with public transportation. Exposure to outside elements. Must have CSA approved safety boots
