Located in Aldergrove, B.C., a Transportation and logistics company is now looking to add talented and reliable staff to our team. The position we are looking to fill is that of an Assistant Financial Controller.

The Assistant Controller is responsible for managing the daily operations of the accounting department and coordinating the completion of financial reports and consolidation. This role assists in the development and maintenance of financial controls to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial information. This role reports to the Regional Controller.

Duties:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly financial statements and reporting packages. Ensure the general ledgers are reconciled and maintained including the preparation of monthly working papers. 

• Maintain the system of corporate accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.

• Ensure GST reports and other document submissions and filings are accurate and timely. 
• Assist in the preparation of weekly cash flow forecasts. 

• Assist in the collection of accounts receivable as required. 

• Aid in the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets. 

• Facilitate proper job-costing and fixed asset tracking and utilization.

• Prepare actual cash flow reports for the controller, reconcile all bank statements weekly, and enter all manual bank transactions (auto-payments, source deductions, etc).

• Assist the Controller as needed, including training staff on internal control procedures.

 Skills Required:

• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective oral and written communication.
• Ability to prioritize and multi task.
• Ability to work independently and resolve problems without supervision.
• CMA or CGA designation; or working towards receiving designation

This position requires a minimum 3-5 years of experience.
