Position Summary
Under the supervision of the Senior Technician the successful candidate will be required to install, maintain, troubleshoot and upgrade computer hardware, software, and peripheral equipment in and around the Calgary area. Prepares documentation and provides user training as required.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide second level technical deskside support to customers
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot and upgrade hardware and software
- Install and maintain peripheral equipment
- Image computer equipment
- Prioritize and expedite service requests
- Document solutions
- Other related duties as required
Qualifications
The successful candidate must possess minimum two years of experience in a similar role and is proficient in PC Hardware, desktop operating systems, imaging software and call tracking software. Experience is required in installing and configuring engineering and CADD software. Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with strong interpersonal skills are essential to this role. You have a proven track record of effective problem solving and enjoy working in a fast paced environment.
- 2 years related work experience required
- Help Desk / Desktop Support related experience (Level 1 and 2) preferred
- Microsoft certification preferred
- A+ certification preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong knowledge of Windows OS and MS Office products
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Ability to stay calm in stressful situations, especially when dealing with demanding customers
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to use discretion and confidentiality with access to sensitive data
- Ability to lift computer equipment, including monitors and printers, which may weigh up to 60 lbs
