Certified Financial Anti - Money Laundering ( AML ) Compliance Officer Toronto 22039

We are located in the heart of Downtown Toronto and we require the services of an experienced (Chief) AML Compliance Specialist.  The AML Compliance Officer is to be accountable for ensuring a proactive Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorist Financing Program (AML / ATF) exists and that it meets the requirements of the PCMLTFA regulations in all jurisdictions.

Qualifications:

• 3-5 years of experience in Compliance, Audit, Legal, Risk Management or related field, focused on AML/OFAC issues
• Familiarity with Canadian and USA Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act
• Relationship management skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills
• Excellent project and/or process management and organizational skills
• Proven problem-solving and conceptual thinking skills
• Highly motivated and self-disciplined
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Must be CAMS certified

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years or working experience with AML in the financial services industry with an excellent understanding of the regulations and policies that surround AML. The compliance officer’s role requires excellent communication and presentation skills combined with the ability to interpret regulations and policies. The compliance officer must be highly organized and have experience in negotiating and influencing.  Additionally the compliance officer must be able to deal with conflicting points of view whilst ensuring that the overall goal of having a compliant AML/CTF program is not compromised.
