RSB LOGISTIC INC. is the North American subsidiary of RSB LOGISTIC Projektspedition GmbH, (previously RSB LOGISTIC GmbH) located in Koln, Germany.  The Kieserling Group of Germany acquired RSB LOGISTIC Projektspedition GmbH in January 2004 after establishing a 25-year business relationship.  The Kieserling Group, located in Bremen Germany, has over 75 years of transportation experience and is a well established European road transportation company, specializing in nuclear transport.


In the 1970s, our German parent company expanded into the movement and storage of nuclear materials.  The continuing development of the uranium industry in Canada led to increased levels of shipping activity between the two continents.  As a result, the first North American subsidiary - Braunkohle Transport Canada Inc. - was established in Montreal, Canada in 1978.  Its principal functions were to provide freight forwarding services to the nuclear industry and to support the European nuclear transport operation.


The business flourished and in 1983 Braunkohle Transport USA Inc. (now RSB LOGISTIC SERVICES INC.) was established in Washington, DC.  The location of this office in the eastern United States firmly established RSB as a North American presence in the nuclear industry.


Providing safe, efficient freight forwarding services for nuclear and hazardous materials was just the starting point.  With its European experience and growing reputation in the safe transportation of such materials, RSB LOGISTIC moved towards expanding the North American service to include specialized road transportation for these goods.


At this time, Saskatchewan was already recognized as the growth area for the uranium mining industry - an industry that increasingly required transportation services to and from its northern locations.  Two years after the Washington location opened, the Road Transportation Group of RSB LOGISTIC (then Braunkohle Transport Canada Inc.) was opened in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.  Subsequent to this, uranium companies such as Cameco and Cogema also established their North American head offices in Saskatoon.


RSB LOGISTIC's road transportation business expanded from this beginning to include transportation services for a variety of commodities and a wide spectrum of industries.
