Marketing & Communications Assistant

Convoy Supply is looking for a Marketing & Communications Assistant to join our team. This is primarily a support role, but it is critical in the life of Convoy’s Marketing & Communications Department. The right candidate will continuously strengthen external and internal communications and contribute to operational excellence through their strong gifts of organization, customer service orientation, creativity, and adaptability to the changing needs of the department.

A background in hospitality is a plus as you will be responsible for coordinating events and promotions, communicating our expectations with outside vendors. Other responsibilities may grow out of the chosen candidate’s skills and interest. There is potential for this to grow into a hybrid position with part-time work from home.

 

General Responsibilities:

  • Help in the planning and execution of corporate and customer events
  • Collaborate with merchandise suppliers and marketing team to design and order promo merchandise
  • Provide support to Marketing & Communications team with general administration, budget reconciliation, etc.
  • Prepare, edit, and proofread announcements, presentations, reports, forms, and other related marketing and communications material
  • Provide support for the development, maintenance, and organization of various digital tools
  • Assist in creating and/or re-purposing content for websites and social media networks
  • Participate on committees and in meetings as needed to provide support on communications planning or implementation
  • Perform other related duties as assigned 

     

Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field such as marketing, communications, or event planning, and one to three years experience in a related environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience

 

Competencies:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Fluent spoken and written English communication skills
  • Strong writing and editing or graphic design skills an asset
  • Familiarity with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, an asset
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics and SEO tools is considered an asset

 

Skills:

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple projects and work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Impeccable written and spoken communication skills in English
  • Ability to work effectively independently, with individuals, and teams in a wide variety of settings, applying interpersonal skills and taking a problem-solving approach
  • Curiosity and commitment to continuous learning and developing skills and knowledge in the marketing and communications profession
  • Knowledge of written and spoken French would be a strong asset

 

Rob Requirements

  • Occasional domestic and international travel may be required to support customer/company events
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle preferred
  • Unassisted lifting required. Maximum 20 lbs.
