Senior Project Engineer - Technical Lead

Our client is currently seeking a Project Engineer to be the senior technical lead and primary technical customer contact for our projects. The ideal candidate will be experienced, with strong communication skills, and be able to communicate positively and effectively with team members and customers.

Your Tasks:

• Design, develop, and maintain control engineering systems
• Prepare AutoCAD drawings including; power distribution, PLC, main and station panel layouts, console layouts, pneumatics, hydraulics, and instrumentation
• Oversee the execution of projects
• Manage a team of controls engineers
• Lead project meetings
• Provide efficient and timely solutions to problems during the development phase
• Participate during the installation phase of the project
• Software writing and re-writes
• Report budgets and project timelines to management
• Additional duties and responsibilities as required

We Require:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in developing PLC & HMI code for automation projects
• Engineering degree or a technology diploma in electrical or mechanical engineering
• Must be in possession of either a Canadian or US passport as regular travel between Canada and the United States is required in order to make client visits
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is required in order to make site visits
• Prior experience with industrial automation projects 
• Experience estimating projects for materials and labor costs is an asset
• Prior experience as a Supervisor or Team Lead is an asset
