Established in 1902, at Trenton Cold Storage our specialty is customized temperature-controlled warehousing and distribution. We provide Canada with more than 34,000,000 cubic feet of cold storage and refrigerated warehouse space in our seven Ontario and two Alberta facilities. We are looking for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for managing all onsite Human Resources functions for Alberta, creating and fostering a positive work environment focused on employee growth and recognition. Liaison with Human Resources Manager and Warehouse Manager on day to day activities.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage and participate in the full recruitment process for Alberta operations, including planning and strategizing the human resources requirement with Warehouse Managers
  • Responsible for hiring, orientation and training for all the new employees.
  • Ensure compliance with Provincial legislation regarding health & safety, employment standards, labor relations, human rights, confidentiality and pay equity.
  • Design and develop the policies and procedures for Alberta employees.
  • Act as a resource for management regarding discipline and termination ensuring employment legislation is followed.
  • Act as a resource for management for wage reviews and performance management.
  • Provide leadership and coaching to managers and supervisors on workplace matters including performance management, employee development and employee relations.
  • Respond to internal and external human resources related inquiries, from employees, managers, stakeholders, and other governing bodies.
  • Maintain and communicate benefit and pension plan including short term and long-term disability management.
  • Verifying the daily time sheet, ensuring payment of sick and vacation requests, balancing the biweekly payroll for Alberta and forwarding it to payroll department for salary processing through Ceridian.
  • Manage and report all WCB incidents for Alberta.
  • Assist in the writing and publication of the company newsletter.
  • Organize, maintain, and coordinate office records and files in their proper locations.
  • Planning and organizing the engagement activities and support with company events such as Christmas party.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Successful Candidate will possess:

Education & Experience.

  • A university or college degree in Human Resources or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • Must have good understanding in Provincial and Federal Legislation regarding Employment Standards, Health & Safety, Pay Equity, Confidentiality, Labor Relations and Human Rights.
  • CPHR designation (or equivalent) or working towards.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite .

  • Proven ability to work Independently, take initiatives, and work to plan.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in an environment with multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to work cross functionally and build lasting relationships with fellow team members
  • Ability to manage confidential information as well as demonstrate sound judgment and decision-making .
  • Must be double vaccinated against COVID 19 virus (we will accommodate on Medical and religious exemptions)
