General Labourer / Equipment Operator Top Pay + Benefits

We are a  Non-Hazardous  waste management company looking for a hard working, physically fit General Laborer to join our growing team! We need a skilled, responsible and reliable candidate to provide exemplary service and support for our organization.

The General Laborer is responsible for the Off Loading of Tankers, Vacuum Trucks and other Vehicles along with the treatment of Non-Hazardous liquids and solids in an efficient and safe manner.

 

All positions start at 17$ / hour and pay increases are given based on ability to learn required tasks and responsibilities. 

 

  • Must have:
  • Valid Ontario G Driver's License
  • Strong English communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Reliable means of personal transportation
  • Availability and willingness to work Overtime, both Days and Afternoon Shifts and occasional weekends
  • Must be a highly motivated, service and team-oriented individual with a strong attention to detail and accuracy

Responsibilities:

  • Housekeeping
  • Offload incoming materials from Tankers and Trucks
  • Operate Fork Trucks to offload trucks
  • Operate Mini Excavator for solidification of sludge
  • Provide support of daily operations.
  • Communicate daily with management
  • Inspection and maintain hoses, fittings, and associated equipment before use. Report any faults immediately to Supervisor.
  • Complete daily paperwork including work orders, BOLs, manifests, logs, hazard assessments, etc. and hand in on a daily basis.
  • Completing work related documentation and reporting
  • Perform work in a safe manner, so as not to endanger oneself or others.
  • Reporting workplace hazards, accidents or other occurrences that may pose a risk to the organization or the safety of oneself or others.
  • Adhere to the Occupational Health & Safety Act, Workplace Safety & Insurance Board Act, Ontario Human Rights Code and Employment Standards Act.

 

Qualifications:

  • Valid Ontario G Driver's License
  • Strong English communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Reliable means of personal transportation
  • Willingness to work  BOTH Days, Afternoon Shifts and occasional weekends,
  • Professional and trustworthy, with a customer focus to his/her work
  • Must be a highly motivated, service and team-oriented individual with a strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Waste water sampling and testing an asset 
  • Knowledge of basic chemistry an asset
  • Fork Truck operations experience  an asset (In-house training provided)
  • Excavator operation  experience an asset (In-house training provided)
  • TDG (In-house training provided)
